We just published the 2026 Colorado Legislation Report for new housing bills passed into law in 2026.
It was a remarkably quiet year after the major legislative changes in 2034 and 2024.
I added a section on failed bills that I think will come back around in the future and that show the mindset of the legislators, especially around enhanced tenant protection.
The Colorado Front Range market is clearly being influenced by West Coast policies of increased housing density, a focus on housing affordability as a political policy issue and an increasingly assertive state infringement on home rule municipal planning and zoning authority.
The rental market continues to get more challenging for landlords.
